Singapore: Entering Singapore, the SG Arrival Card

Covid is the best Chief Technology Officer.

Something new since Singapore’s borders opened up is the SG Arrival Card, which is the entry details (for foreigners) and health declaration that is required by both citizens and foreigners alike to enter Singapore, except those entering via land checkpoints.

If you have travelled to Singapore previously, this card should be familiar, and now it is no longer accepted.

This needs to be highlighted: SG Arrival Card application is free. There is no requirement to make any payment so if there’s any agency or website that intends to charge you for the registration, ignore them.

When to register: You can register 3 days before you land in Singapore. For example, if you are landing on 31 December, you can register from 29 December onwards.

How to register: Steps are relatively intuitive, but if you need guidance, you can follow the steps below to apply via the mobile app.

  1. Access either https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/ or download the MyICA mobile application for Android or iPhone. Open the application and select SG Arrival Card at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Add your profile. This is a one-time step, as the details will be saved thereafter. For Singaporeans, you will need your Full Name, NRIC, Date of Birth, Mobile Phone and Email Address. For foreigners,
  3. Submit your SG Arrival Card, by clicking on “Individual Submission” at the top of the screen. For Singaporeans: this you will need to indicate your Date of Arrival in Singapore, and you will have to answer 3 questions relating to travel history and any illness. For foreigners: In addition to the questions above, you will have to indicate the flight number, address while you are staying in Singapore and you next city that you are heading to after Singapore.

Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoint Authority has created a good instructional video on how to fill up the SG Arrival Card. If you have further difficulties, the video below will guide you step by step for submission via your browser (not mobile application).

Remember to submit your SG Arrival Card before you return to Singapore. For all guests, welcome to Singapore, and for Singaporeans, welcome home!
